Hey De La Vega, My name is Lucy, I’m sure we have met once or twice. I currently live in Spanish Harlem (101 & 1st a) I’m currently planning a block party on 104thst between Lax & Park Avenue... & I need your help. Sam (pretty bad boy Sambo) recommended I speak to you. Can you call me? I emailed you the flyer which has my contact information. Hope to speak to you soon... Lucy
Here's to you. We have to show our world love, especially for the children. Any way that we can send a positve message no matter how big or small it's worth it. I hope you continue on your mission, it's a great one. I am just a small town girl in Montana. I volunteer at the local children's museum. The director tells me what she wants and let's me go. It's great. The children love the museum. I paint and write. Someday maybe I will be able to touch the world with love and hope the way you have. s.k.dail
Saludos James, This is Alfredo. You spoke to me once at our mother's school on 106 & park ave, months later i applied & was accepted into Cornell. I haven't seen you since back then, but I always see your work and appreciate the messages. Bless up my bruva. Palante como un elefante!
DeLaVega, It was an honor meeting you this past Sunday@ your gallery. We spoke about keeping in contact (you took my info.) & you possibly coming out to Phila. to visit the public school where i teach @ in the West Kensington section of Philly. I spoke to my principal & she would be delighted to have you come speak. Also, we are around the corner from a great Puerto Rican Museum & Art Workshop/Studio in the heart of the neighborhood called Taller Puertorriqueno (goggle it). In previous years, I have taken my students there. They enjoyed working on art projects & studying their cultural roots. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for you to share your inspirational philosophy within this diverse community. Please get in contact with me. I look forward to making this dream become a reality for my students @ the school & the Latino community full of bright, young hearts & minds here in Philadelphia ....inspiration move me brightly,.... Peace. Fondly, Brandi Fleischman

Wha's up De La Vega- My name is Jesus and I am from Compton, california. I was recently in NYC and had the opportunity to visit your museum. My family has been there a few times and I had to see your place. I have heard about you and your work since I was in 5th grade. i am now about to graduate from high school. i never thought about pursuing my dream cuz in my neighborhood we have trouble enough just trying to get by- but to see all you have done was like an inspiration to me especially since you come from a poor neighborhood too. Your philosophy has inspired me to 'become my dream' as you say it. Now I am thinking of college and pursuing whatever it is i want to do- maybe even an artist. Thank you for inspiring people and i hope to get to talk to you nect time I am there. Peace- Jesus

De La Vega, Your stickers and the books you shared with my organization in Brazil were a big hit. Thank you for allowing us to use your Become Your Dream design on tshirts to inspire 2500 kids last week at our festival in Sao Paolo. The children were fascinated by your simple drawings and their playful wit. We owe you big time. This summer my sister and I will be back in New York City. You can count on a great box of Brazilian cigars. Thank You for allowing us to participate in your movement. You definitely have a guaranteed spot in heaven. Rafael
Hi De La Vega, My father always talked about your store & I was always interested in going but I never had the time. I few weeks ago my brother and I walked in and I was amazed by all of your work. I wanted to talk to about your style and everything but I guess I became very shy and just stared at your works. I'm definitely going to come back and purchase some of your pieces. Keep up the fabulous work. =]

Hello De La Vega- I grew up in Spanish harlem seeing your stuff on the walls and on the sidewalks everywhere. It was impossible to miss your presence and your Become Your Dream message everywhere. Though I know very little about you, You were a big part of my childhood. Over the years I have heard so many people criticize your work and you. This made you even more interesting to me since I have never seen anyone so passionate about art before. Just wanted to tell you that I am really impressed with the work you have done to help inspire the Latin community. I can only imagine that it must be a lonely road, but trust me there are a lot of eyes on you. Some may want you to fail, but I've also met many that are moved by what you do. Tonight I will send out a prayer for you. Serena

Mr. De La Vega, I am just returning to California from a week long trip to New York. My sisters and I make an annual trip and this year we focused our time on museums. We had a chance to experience the Met, MOMA, the Frick, and then we were referred to your museum. The experience- your art, the environment, the sounds and smells- were by far the most memorable and inspirational of any experience we have had in the city. No matter what we plan on seeing next year, we will always be sure to return to your museum and recommend it as a New York city must see. With thanks- your new loyal fans- Maria, Susie, Becky, and Cynthia
